131.____My take on the Liberty gift recommendations

Firstly may I apologise for the length of this post, as you can tell, there's a lot that I liked on the Liberty website, and this is just from looking through their 'gifts for her' and 'gifts for him' sections. From that, I'm reluctant to go through their website for a while, I know I'll be broke before I've even opened it! So here it is, the epic list of lovely gifts from Liberty.

Some gifts for the men in your life.

This is the Cool Coast Liberty Print World Atlas, £36.00. It's a great present for anyone (not only men - I know it was featured in the recommended mens section) that you know who love travelling, and I think it's adorable, I really want one!

I love this Vivienne Westwood Grey Striped Orb Scarf, it would look dapper on any man, plus is a really reasonable £65.00.

I love this scarf too, and grey is a brilliant colour as it goes with a multitude of things, colours and patterns, not that many of the men I know do wear a lot of pattern. This is a beautiful Mid Edge Grey Striped Scarf from Lanvin, which is also really reasonable at £70.00.

This Malin + Goetz Mojito gift set was also in the mens section, although, I'm sure that I, like most ladies would use it too. The great thing about this label is that all of their ingredients are natural so you really know what you are getting. This set is a brilliant £22.00. (Space NK also stock Malin + Goetz)

I think that these are amazing, but unfortunately I can't see many of the men that I know actually wearing them, they are the Paul Smith Mini Striped Car Cufflinks, £60.00.

These two mugs are part of a the River Series by Snowden Flood, the top is the Tower Bridge Mug, whilst the bottom is the London Eye Mug, both are £13.50, and would make a brilliant gift for any men who drink hot drinks and have ever been to London.

This is the best gift I've seen, although it's highly unpractical and I can't afford it, I think it's wonderful. This is the Medium Leather Hippo Footstool, £495.00.

I love this, it's so personal, I could be tempted to buy this for The Boyfriend for our anniversary instead of Christmas, it's wooden, which has been laser cut, with the beautiful inscription. The 'One day will be used but only by you' Wooden Key by Rob Ryan £29.00.

These are the perfect gift for my dad, a complaint a couple of years ago about receiving no socks resorted in the following year receiving over 100 pairs from various people. These are stylish but still work compliant, Paul Smith Brown Multi Stripe Socks £15.00.

Know anyone who loves writing? Or just likes pretty things to stick on their bedroom wall? This set of 20 Liberty postcards are the perfect stocking filler at £5.95.

Know any lovely ladies who like to travel or are away from home a lot through work? This Malin + Goetz set is a brilliant gift, it's an introduction for those who haven't used the brand before, and a set of their favourites for those who have, Essential Travel Kit £18.00.

These are the perfect gift for the ladies who love a bit of pampering, Liberty Lavender and Eucalyptus soap & body lotion are a little bit of luxury for £4.95 and £11.00 respectively.

I love this letter tray, it's so cute! The Things I Like letter tray by John Derian is unfortunately £85.00, if it was cheaper I would definitely buy one!

This Cream Waterloo Bridge Rectangular Cushion by Charlene Mullen is amazing, although I imagine it could be hard to place in a pre decorated room. It is lovely though, although the price tag isn't £175.00.

I think that this is my favourite thing that I've seen on the lists, it's a Love Crystal Dome Paperweight by John Derian, it'd be a perfect addition at any desk, and reminds the recipient that they are loved. £55.00.

This is great, Love is a Killer card holder by Paris House, in an ultra slim design holding 6 cards, this is a Liberty exclusive £70.00.

I love this Comme des Garçons Black and White Polka Dot Leather Purse, it's very chic and the perfect gift for a friend who has everything, £100.00.

Know someone who's always late? Who never knows when your birthday is? Or a meticulous diary keeper? This Miu Miu Purple Leather Organiser is beautiful, they will feel very sophisticated when taking this out to take down a lunch date. Make someone feel special, £215.00.

I love this Marc by Marc Jacobs Burgundy Classic Percy Cross-Body Bag, it's gorgeous plus a very practical size, stopping sore shoulders! It's really reasonably priced at £175.00.

I love this Liberty Shopper Tote, which features the iconic store front, a perfect gift for any lady in your life at £14.95.

This is a gorgeous Marc by Marc Jacobs Green Leather Sophie Satchell which is lovely but expensive at £495.00, regardless of the hefty price tag I love it, although I have to say that this is only a gift to buy a girlfriend/fiancee/wife, the price tag can't really justify anything else.

As you can probably tell, I love shoes, and the various Manolo Blahnik collaborations are wonderful and have made me very excited and very willing to spend my money! The Manolo Blahnik New Shoes by Thames and Hudson £24.50, the gorgeous tote bag is Manolo Blahnik for Liberty £25.00, the Pocket Shoe Repeat Address Book is also Manolo Blahnik for Liberty & is £32.00. The Winter Shoes Fabric Covered Notebook is £32.00 and the Thames & Hudson book of Manolo Blahnik drawings is £9.95. Take your pick of these for any shoe lovers that you know.

This Marc Jacobs Gingham Make Up Pouch, is brilliant, it's affordable designer, allowing everyone to have a little piece of that world. It's very versatile, it could be used as a pouch or pencil case instead, although £50.00 is a lot for a pencil case!

Once again, Vogue have released their Christmas list of incredibly fashionable gifts, and, as always they have picked some incredible things, here's my pick of the list.

I'm a huge fan of 'coffee table' books, and the more that I see, the more I think I'm going to have to invest in a coffee table in my bedroom! I don't have one, nor do I have room to put one but that's not the point! I'll have fun window shopping at least! This book is brilliant, effectively the covers of all the back issues of Vogue magazine in one place, sells for £45.00.

I love Jo Malone, there's a gorgeous boutique in Leeds where I spend a lot of time, I'm just waiting until I can afford to mix my own perfume, they have some amazing sets. This is the festive Pine & Eucalyptus set available here starting at £38.00.

This is the oh so gorgeous Miller Harris Bouton de Rose Scented Candle, in a collaboration with Manolo Blahnik, I'd love one of these, the design is just beautiful! Available here for £36.00.

When it rains, it rains shoes! This is the Manolo Blahnik for London Undercover umbrella, which is amazing, especially as the shoes are on the lining, so The Boyfriend doesn't think I'm obsessed, although as he's reading this he'll know. Available at London Undercover for £95.00.

I love these cute Moschino ballet pumps, they are £74.00 and from Moschino

This tee is great, it's gorgeous, plus when you buy it, you do your bit for charity, it's sold by the E J Foundation, to raise awareness for their campaign to end child labour. The design on this particular tee is by Richard Nicoll.

These are the perfect gift for the sophisticated man in your life, or The Boyfriend's dad, this gorgeous handkerchief set is £25.00 from Selfridges.

These are the cutest keyrings I have ever seen! They are from Prada & are £100.00.

These are the NARS limited collection film inspired nail varnishes they are £13.00 and available from all NARS stockists.

This is the gorgeous and incredibly useful Trish McEvoy make up brush set, which I'm lucky enough to already own, I got these for my 18th birthday when I was in New York last year, I can definitely recommend them, although they do come with a hefty price tag of £175.00, from Harvey Nichols. The thing to remember with brushes is that they are an investment so the price is well worth it!

This is the Felix Rey The Lovebirds clutch, I'm not sure if it's practical or not but it's very cute, from Urban Outfitters, at £110.00.

I love Laduree macaroons & these are the John Galliano for Laduree, the boxes are beautiful, 6 macaroons for £11.00, 8 for £13.40 and 18 for £29.70, from Laduree.

This is the history of the Boot by Bradley Quinn, £26.00 from Laurence King.

I really want this, it's an advent calendar made by L'Oreal, which includes miniatures of it's top beauty brands, which is perfect for me, as I can't have chocolate so this is the best alternative. Available from Selfridges for £60.00.

I really want this book, it is a window into the lives of some major designers, including moodboards and interviews. Available from Laurence King for £28.00.

This is the perfect gift for The Boyfriend or any guy in your life from Bally, although the price tag is slightly large at £695.00.

This is the Burberry lip charm, which I love, I'm a huge fan of their make up & I will be blogging about that at a later date, it's very slick and chic although at £60.00 not sure I can justify it.

This is another of the amazing coffee table books, another from Laurence King, praising the modern designers, I can't wait to read it! £30.00

Marks and Spencer are bang on trend this season, there's a lot of pieces within the following that I love, and that are completely different to the 'M&S' stereotype that they are desperately trying to move away from. Keeping up to date with the catwalk trends, there are so many pieces that are so right, although there are some pieces I wouldn't touch, that's just my taste. I'd love to know what you think and which pieces will make it on to your wishlist.

There is some really beautiful jewellery in the V & A shop, I've already had some gorgeous earrings from them, and I'm constantly amazed by their prices and by how much I can actually afford!

Part two of my V & A series, Fashion & Accessories, there's a lot gorgeous pieces in this section, and they are mostly really reasonably priced. These too would make brilliant Christmas presents, and are also on my ever growing wishlist!

This is the Green Spot Sunglasses Case adapted from a fabric designed by Joyce Badrocke for Horrockses Fashions in the 1950s, which I could really do with as I don't have a case for my beautiful bargain Oscar De La Renta sunglasses. £14.00

Kimono laptop skin for a 13" laptop, I really like this but I'd be worried to stick it on my baby, so it's staying in the maybe pile. £22.00

As you may have read I also have a penchant for Union Jacks, and this scarf is a gorgeous understated version of them; £30.00

This is the Blackberry version of the iPhone skin, and part of me does prefer the colours of this one, although, alas it won't fit on my phone, but it would go perfectly on my flatmates BB. £12.00

I've been looking for a new laptop case/bag which is a little more jazzy than my dull khaki green one, plus it fits my little 13" MacBook, hopefully I'll invest in it soon! £15.00

After my trip to the V&A in September and with a bit of inspiration from Jazzabelle's Diary I decided to raid through their online shop & post my favourite things from it. It's an amazing shop, with gifts for everyone you can possibly imagine, plus so many beautiful things I'd love to own that are getting permanently superglued onto my wishlist until I can afford them or santa decides to help.

All of these books would look great on a coffee table and I really hope to add them to my collection one day, shows a bit of culture, and lets The Boyfriend understand what I'm babbling about!

Not technically a book, but I'm a huge fan of penguin classics and this set of 100 postcards features iconic book covers from their huge range of books. On sale for £14.99

Scott Schuman is a genius, a simple people spotter who found fashion under his nose in New York, documenting it in his book and website, selling at £19.99

Having visited the Alhambra in Granada, Spain, the architecture and art is beautiful and this book is the perfect reminder of a great time. £30.00

I actually own this book after visiting the brilliant Grace Kelly exhibition in September, its a great book that tells the story of Grace Kelly as well as including photos of her in her most iconic outfits. £19.99

I'd love to read this, purely out of curiosity and a love of fashion, £24.99

Kenzo recently celebrated 40 years in fashion, and this book is the perfect accompaniment to find out more about the fashion house, £48.00

This catalogue features highlights from the Royal College of Art's fashion show, a great way to see the new talent and learn the names to keep an eye on, £5.00

I love the Keep Calm and Carry On posters, I have a great vintage war poster at home, I love them because they don't mean to be funny or amusing and were made with a serious point to get across. This is a book of stellar advice to get you through the hard times, £4.99

I also love Leonardo Da Vinci, his talent never ceases to amaze me, he was a master of so many things that I couldn't even begin to attempt. I'd love to read this book, and find out more about this incredibly intelligent man, £35.00

This lady is amazing. She's from the midlands like me, and is a redhead so I have a sort of affinity there, although I doubt that it will get me a discount anytime soon! I would like to own this book though, after seeing and reading numerous things about this remarkable lady, I'd like to know more. £19.99

I love spying into other people's lives and this book is the perfect way to find out various 'big names' favourite dresses and a sneaky look into their wardrobes. £29.50

I love Grace Kelly, she was such a glamorous and dignified lady, this book documents her life in Hollywood, £8.99

Dior. There's not a lot of words to describe the fashion house that don't include, inspired, sublime, amazing etc, this book tells the story of Christian Dior and his baby £19.99

I thought I'd throw this one in for The Boyfriend, and for Little Brother, so I can keep them both on the fashionable road, and I'd like to know more about mens fashion as I don't seem to make as much of an effort on that front as I do with women's. £9.99

I saw these and fell in love, they are perfect! Although a lot pricer that the Topshop ones, these beautiful gloves are 100% cashmere, with a slit in the thumb to make life a whole lot easier! They retail at DKNY at $65.00, which I'm sure you'll agree is a fair price to make life easier, and they are the perfect Christmas present for a lot of ladies who are always on the go! 122.____Christmas Stockings

Christmas is undoubtedly my absolute favourite time of year, when I'm sat in my lounge with my parents and grandparents all is right in the world. And yes, Santa does still visit, so in preparation of this, I thought I'd look at the best stockings around, having spotted some in Marks & Spencer and Jack Wills.

121.___A trip to hospital

Over the past few years I've been to my local hospital more times than I can keep count, I am, what you'd call a sickly child, although I'm not a child anymore, the sickly part has stuck. I've never let any sort of illness stop me doing what I want & achieving what I want to, even if it does go against the medical advice I'm given.

This time though, it's a voluntary trip to hospital, and the subsequent phone call that I received this morning to book my operation... it's strange the phrasing of things, 'booking' an operation sounds incredibly modern and blasé, and yes, in my case it's a very minor key hole procedure it's still strange to think of it that way.

I was inspired to write this post by one that I read on Liberty London Girl about what to pack in an overnight bag, although I (hopefully) will only be in a day, especially as I can walk home from the hospital - I live 500m up the road. I do still need to take supplies... as the operation is on my hand, I'm thinking easy on and off clothes, something a long the lines of a hoodie and tracksuit bottoms? Jeans and buttons will be a nightmare one handed!

I'll let you know how it goes, until then I've got 4 essays to attempt to get done while I still have use of both hands!

Last week The Boyfriend, Little Brother and I trotted off to Leeds O2 Academy for an Ellie Goulding gig. It started off well with tickets only £15.00 each, and just kept getting better. Ellie had 2 support acts, Bright Light Bright Light, find them on twitter here and their website here and Sunday Girl, whose website is www.wearesundaygirl.com and twitter www.twitter.com/sundaygirljade.

Bright Light Bright Light were hands down fantastic, they are a similar genre to La Roux, only all male. Little Brother bought the limited edition tour EP, and after hearing it (which is amazing) I have to say that they are so much better live. It's a huge thing to say when a band is better live than their recorded work as very few bands are.

Sunday Girl were also really good, the only thing which annoyed me, was their lead singer had a very annoying tendency of flicking her hair about 200 times a song, which makes watching very off putting. On the other hand, she looked amazing in a gorgeous cape.

Ellie Goulding was also brilliant, she really puts on a show, talking to the crowd as well as performing some awesome music, including new songs and covers. Her version of Temper Trap's Sweet Disposition was unbelievable, I really hope she releases it on her new album. (If you were wondering Ellie wore a navy military jacket, black/navy embellished crop top and high waisted leather shorts/skirt).

If you can go and see her do, it's a brilliant show, and take a listen to Bright Light Bright Light & Sunday Girl, you will not be dissappointed.

After having a brilliant time on the Jack Wills website looking through, more comprehensively than I have before to bring you a list of the best pieces on the site, here is what I've come up with.

I love these gloves, especially because they are impossible to loose being on a string! The Broadley Gloves £24.00

This is my favourite style of purse, I'm desperate for a new one, although a little bird has told me that I have one coming from Santa so I've not been able to buy one, if I had, this would have been on my list - The Newbridge Wallet £24.00

I love this bag, the Crosby Leather Bag, however at £249.00, from a 'University Outfitters' it is a bit out of most of their clientele's price range, mine included.

I love this onesie, it's fantastic! Although, I can't really justify the Shelderton All-In-One at £69.00.

This Halfpenny Slouch Henley looks perfect for winter layering, and, will last long enough to pay off it's £44.00 price tag.

These headbands are perfect for the gym and bad hair days, and at £4.50 are really reasonable.

This is the Walters Gym Bag, which I am itching to own, as I do frequent a gym, which is my way of justifying buying it! It's quite reasonable compared to the Stella McCartney for Adidas range, at £39.00

This is the gorgeous Icenworth Bikini, which I'd love to have in preparation for my next non-existant holiday, but unfortunately Jack Wills bra sizes are rather small. The top is £34.00 with the pants being £19.00

All in all this list would set you back £1432.50 which is rather a lot, and not really justifiable. I love the Jack Wills products, but I'd advise to buy one or two key pieces and not to go all out wardrobe, unless of course money is not option, if that's the case, feel free to splurge!

After an evening of avoiding essays, I stumbled upon the accessories section of Zara's website, most of the products on there would be lovely gifts, however, these two are my out & out favourites.

I'm in need of some gloves, and these fingerless ones are perfect as I have an iPhone which I've discovered I can't use with gloves on (touch screen & heat sensitivity and all that jazz). These are Zara's Knitted Mittens with Leather Details & are £19.99, I can't quite decide which colour I like best, I'm leaning towards the pale blue. They remind me of 1950s driving gloves and are oh so decadent.

I'm also in need of a new purse as mine decides to undo itself in every possible way in my handbag leaving me with coins strewn all over the place, a nightmare when you're in a shop with a huge queue behind you. I'm very much quintessentially English in that way, that I get embarrassed in these situations so I've taken to using a Jack Wills purse snap purse, which also doesn't quite fit the bill.

These two are gorgeous, mock vintage, which I love, I think I prefer the peach coloured one, Zara call them 'Hard Case Purse with Vintage Print" and it sells at £19.99 too.

Both of these are really reasonably priced, I can see myself heading toward Zara in the near future...a night out or some new gloves....?

I am a huge fan of Topshop's pants, and I'm a bit of a Christmas freak, I'm excited already! Plus, I've started planning presents, shopping and made my Christmas card list (I know it's a tad premature!). Last weekend, The Boyfriend & I were shopping, and I stumbled across these gorgeous pants in Topshop, which made my week. They're adorable!

They each have specific days embroidered into them, and the sweet little bag they come in has 'Festive Fancies' sewn into it. The set is £14.00, but with student discount it makes it a tad more reasonable.

I've been ill roughly for the past 5 weeks, which is really starting to irritate, as you can imagine, however, earlier this week a new symptom appeared - the dreaded ear ache. It's so cold in Leeds at the moment, that going outside really hurts, so I had no choice but to invest in some ear muffs. Whilst on a wander around the city centre, my flatmate & I found ourselves in Urban Outfitters where I saw this pair of ear muffs which I couldn't resist!

After having a bad experience with a cape, I'm reluctant to try another one, however, I have seen some gorgeous ones, especially in and around uni. Smith's rosebud salve is a life saver, whether it's your lips that are chapped or your cuticles which need some help this is the answer. It's the best lip balm I've come across, and I've tried pretty much everything out there (I have really sensitive skin & highly allergic lips). I've been searching since last summer to find a stockist remotely near me, as I picked up a couple of pots in New York on holiday. To my great surprise and relief, American Apparel stock it, it's £5.00 which is a bit steep but it lasts forever, definitely worth shelling out for. It's available online & hopefully in store.

So far, I've been really impressed with Topshop's make up range, I have the bronzer, the skin tint, a nail polish and a kohl pencil. The bronzer is brilliant, coming with stripes of different shades, so when they blend together it's the perfect shade, which can be lightened/darkened for day or night. The skin tint is a lovely treat when you're not feeling as perky as you ought, giving the skin a lift of light. The Kohl is great, it stays on all day, and comes off with ease when using make up wipes or eye make up remover. Whilst the nail polish is my day wear polish, it's a very pale pink which is perfect for the day and is suitable to wear to work, it lasted a week before chipping - that's without top or bottom coats too!

So, when I heard that Topshop are releasing a new range, I got very excited, they're calling it 'Heavy Duty'. It's very dark - my perfect range really, as I'm more of an eyes than lips girl, as I've had anaphylaxis from a lip balm, I avoid using lip glosses and lip sticks generally.

I was being nosey on Brix Smith Start's website earlier, and found some great pieces, which brilliantly are in the sale. These are firmly on my wishlist, now, just to find the funds! Good job I've been frantically applying for jobs, hopefully one will turn up.

This is a very rock chic piece, a studded wallet by SONIA by Sonia Rykiel, with a leopard print interior, which started life at £89.50 and is now £59.50

This dress is my favourite, a navy sleeveless crochet detail dress by Vanessa Bruno which is seriously reduced from £179.00 to £79.00

Finally, one for the boys, I can see The Boyfriend or Little Brother wearing this tie, which is a bright blue basket weave slim Mr Start tie, which is £29.50 reduced from £59.50.

I am a huge Desperate Houswives fan, I won't deny it, so, obviously when I saw an article on Marie Claire about one of the stars, Terri Hatcher, I was curious. Terri Hatcher filmed a documentary/article for Opera, about her being turned from 'the hardworking mom at home' to 'the glamorous TV actress'. I really admire her for doing it, needless to say, she doesn't always look as spectacular as she does on TV and it's nice, for normal people to know that. That without a team of hair and make up artists she looks like we all do when we wake up!

This isn't the first time that the actress has gone make up free to prove a point, she posted this picture, as well as others on Facebook to prove that she isn't using botox.

New term, new university, new start. So, with that in mind, I've got myself a gym membership for the first time, which I've already used... good start! Being the practical person that I am, and because The Boyfriend wanted to go, when we were in London we headed off to the Adidas shop. Apart from most of the women's range being in pink - yes, Adidas, I am a girl, but no, it doesn't mean I want to wear pink to the gym! They had a lovely range, in purples and silvers, this range is designed by Stella McCartney and is lovely, but unfortunately the price tag isn't so lovely.

To start I had the fishcakes, which were the best ones I have truly ever tasted, I wasn't the only one who had them and we all wished that there was a choice to have them as a main. I also had the Chick pea tagine, which was lovely, although, not sure that I'd have it again, and, for dessert, I had a beautiful mango sorbet.

85.___The Lookout

For The Boyfriend's 21st I took him (well, he drove!) to Keswick in the Lakes for 3 nights, staying in a little B&B called The Lookout. Its a lovely B&B run by a really friendly couple with only 3 rooms, it's very homey and you're really looked after.

On The Boyfriends birthday we headed over to Jamie Oliver's Fifteen for cocktails which were lovely.

For the 6 of us we managed;
2 x Mojitos
3 x Damsonberry
1 x GT Turbo
1 x Cosmopolitan
1 x Fifteens amazing Dry Martini
2 x Fifteen Ice Tea

After being given a photocopy of the cocktail menu I can tell you that...

A Damsonberry (which is gorgeous by the way) is made of:
Fresh strawberries crushed with Tapatio Repasado Tequila (which we replaced with Vodka), Plymouth Damson Liqueur, lime juice and apple juice.

The Boyfriend and his brother braved the Ice Tea which consisted of...

Ketel One Vodka, Plymouth Gin, Havana Club Blanco, Tapatio Tequila and Cointreau shaken with their own home made cola and lime juice.

They only managed one each before returning to the old faithful beer!

82.____Happy Belated 21st Birthday to The Boyfriend

The Boyfriend was 21 last week, while we were in Cornwall, we had an amazing day, as you've seen the pictures from in the last post. In his own words he got, "a good haul" - such a man thing to say but he really did love his presents. I treated him to a weekend away in the Lake District, among other things, which we've just got back from. It was lovely, and I'm really pleased he had a good birthday.

We had a great time in the few days we were in Cornwall, none of us wanted to come home and back to work! I had the short straw of working the day after we got back, I wasn't impressed with the early starts! When my alarm went off at 7.20 all I wanted to do was open the balcony door and see the sea, what I was actually faced with was a rainy morning. Not happy.

The first day we were there, after the drive from Weston we had a lovely lunch in the hotel's bar on the terrace and headed down to the beach for a bit of paddling.

On our first full day at Watergate we spent the day in wetsuits body boarding, which was so much fun! I was the youngest one of us and we all found it brilliant, D & T even went back later in the week! Yes I do have photographic evidence of this, and no, I'm not going to show you!

The Wednesday was The Boyfriend's 21st, which I'll get to later. We had a brilliant day at the beautiful Kynance Cove, which is down near the Lizard and about an hour and a bits drive from the hotel.

On our last day we headed off to Padstow, which is lovely, it's a small town with lots of gorgeous independent shops, selling some really beautiful gifts and cards.

Cornwall is lovely, definitely go if you haven't already, we're already planning our next trip!

After the wedding we headed off to Cornwall for 4 nights, which was lovely. We stayed at The Hotel at Watergate Bay, the hotel is beautiful over looking Watergate Bay, and conveniently enough has Jamie Oliver's Fifteen restaurant just across the car park!

We had a bedroom in the main hotel with a sea view, our room, which we think was a disabled room, as it had a different bathroom door to the other's rooms, was spacious with a double bed and balcony with amazing views!

The bathroom was wonderful, bath with a shower in it, and the toiletries were fabulous! A little set from L'Occitane, I was very impressed.

79.____The Wedding

The wedding was brilliant, the bride looked stunning, it was a real family affair, with lots of The Boyfriends family making the journey to Weston. N had chosen a large meringue style dress with layers of voile for the skirt, with the bodice being a corset with beautiful embroidery.

The theme was fuchsia, which looked amazing, the picture below is of the flowers from the top table which were magnificent.

Part of the decorations was a giant balloon arch, a specific choice of the bride, The Boyfriend and his brother were asked to pick it up which was hilarious, at first glance we thought it was a small single row tied onto a string arch. It wasn't, it was huge! Seeing the boys carry it through Weston's high street was wonderful, we got up extra early to go and see them instead of getting ready! Here it is, with the beautiful wedding cake, all in all it looked gorgeous.

The bride and groom's daughter M, who is 18months old was a bridesmade, she was lovely, here is a picture of her. The dress was amazing, it had fuchsia flowers sown into it. She was adorable, wandering around, winning everybody over.

We had a fabulous time, and the best part was that we stayed in the hotel so only had to walk upstairs afterwards. The morning after, slightly hung over, waking up to this view, we had an amazing carvery, brilliant to soak up the alcohol!

I've been a busy girl this week - sorry for not being around. Last weekend was The Boyfriend's cousin, Naomi's wedding, in Weston-Super-Mare - which I'll tell you more about later, we went down for 3 nights, here is the hotel which we stayed in.

The hotel is great, right on the sea front, with rooms which can only be described as quaint. We ate in both the bar, the wedding party, breakfast and the carvery, all of which were lovely, although I do have to say that the carvery is the best one that I've tasted in a while. There was a choice of Beef, Gammon and Turkey with all the trimmings, needless to say that all of the men in the party, including The Boyfriend had a brilliant time piling their plates high, and there wasn't a single thing left.

There is wi-fi throughout the hotel, including all of the public areas with Sky TV (which the boys appreciated! The cricket was on!)

The pictures below are of our bedroom, it was lovely, the decoration was not my cup of tea but it was extremely comfortable and very clean. The only thing that was slightly bizarre was that as soon as you walked in the door there was 3 steps which lead to what you can see in the picture below.

This is the bathroom, which as a complete contrast to the bedroom was very modern, white and clean. The shower was great, very powerful and hot.

The toiletries in the room were lovely, and very well displayed, I have a thing about hotel toiletries and I also have an unfortunate habit of bringing them home with me!

The best thing about the room was the artwork on the wall, it was all of local scenes - some of them historic but local nonetheless.

I am completely and utterly in love with everything Anya Hindmarch does, as you've seen, her gorgeous bags are already on my A/W wish list. I was being nosey on her website when I came across this; Anya's Little Book AW10, it's brilliant and made me so excited!

I love all of the bags featured, and I was thrilled to see that she's joined Barbour for the season, I'll definitely research that more, hopefully they won't be too extortionate! I can't wait to no longer be a student and to be able to buy some of the wonderful bags!

The Bespoke range is amazing, I'm going to have a look into it, there's some special presents coming up soon! And hopefully, I can drop a few hints in the right direction nearer Christmas! I think the fact that you can personalise some thing for some one is a wonderful, truly touching gift, if The Boyfriend did something like that for me I'd be gob smacked and honoured.

Anya Hindmarch's website is amazing, there is an online shop (Yay!!) and soon the Bespoke shop will be on there, including the beautiful Ebury handbag which is beautiful, although somewhat expensive. The other personalised bags which are available are "Be a Bag" where you can customise a bag with your own picture, I love the idea of that, although, I'd never have a handbag as such but a washbag or make up bag would be brilliant.

I've had a brilliant time putting this post together, I love net-a-porter, although my funds are severely lacking, especially as I went a bit mad on Isabella Oliver's 365 Collection the other day as there was 33% off the new season collection!

Here's what I wish I could afford, and if money was no object and I was no longer a mere student I would definitely splash out on.

The Mulberry Alexa bag, aptly named after the ever stylish Alexa Chung, I love this bag and have lusted after it ever since it was released. The bag does come in two sizes and various colours, but the one above is my favourite, if any one was thinking of buying me one, it'd be that exact one please! It's £695.00 a bargain!

I highly doubt that this Alexander McQueen dress would suit me, I'd have to try it on, but it's not as though I could waltz into Harvey Nics or Harrods and point at that dress and say "That one please, I'll take it!" Unfortunately though, it is an amazing £1495.00!

This is a gorgeous Antik Batik wrap dress, which is a perfect LBD for those who want to stand out from the crowd. Definitely one to look into, which, compared to the Alexander McQueen is a steel at £395.00.

I saw this and just fell in love, I'm a complete travel-aholic, I just can't keep still for long, and this gorgeous satin travel kit from Lanvin seems perfect, although, highly impractical with it being satin it is fairly reasonable as far as Lanvin prices go at a mere £295.00.

I love this Anya Hindmarch cases, they are perfect for any traveller and are so cute! They are fairly reasonably priced at £50.00 each, the gadgets case is a brilliant house for iPods and cameras, while the lips and eyes case makes a lovely make up bag.

These Alexander McQueen shoes are divine, I would treasure them, only wearing it when it's dry and for the very best of occasions, I simply adore them, the only downside is that they are £525.00.

This Marc Jacobs chiffon blouse is amazing, whether it's worn with jeans or a smart pencil skirt, it's a very versatile investment at £490.00.

These 7 for all mankind jeans are perfect to wear with the Marc Jacobs blouse or to wear for a girly lunch, they are a lovely cut, and my favourite shade of denim. They are fairly reasonably priced at £155.00.

Finally, the ultimate accessory of an Alexander McQueen laptop case, it's an amazing case, very stylish look, but unfortunately it's 16 inches whereas my laptop is only 13! It does save me £250!

Having a nosey on HoF's website revealed their new trends for the season. Utilitarian and Artisan for ladies while Matt Smith is being celebrated as the English Eccentric for men's fashion.

I'm a fan of the soldier style coat but the rest I'm not too sure about, especially the shoes, I'm more of a delicate, classic shoe fan, where as they look almost as though they're not quite sure what they're trying to be. I do like the khaki colours though, it helps that the green/brown/beige suits me and goes with red hair.

This is a trend that I'm more a fan of, delicate pieces, silk dresses with a touch of the 1940s about it, I'm a massive scarf fan so I'm thrilled to be able to go shopping with a bigger range to choose from, as I imagining that everyone will be stocking them. Unfortunately I've tried the red lipstick and I look ridiculous, but then, you can't have everything, there's more colours to choose from! I'm loving the 'Lady of the Manor chic' idea, can't wait to have a play and see how it goes!

I loved Matt Smith as the Doctor, and there's something strangely appealing about him, and I'm so pleased the English Eccentric look is being celebrated. I love the quirky look, if only I can get The Boyfriend on the band wagon... He did buy a gorgeous mac (as in the coat not the computer) the other day so maybe we're getting there slowly!

Harvey Nic's have made internet perusing a whole lot more interesting, including revealing their new ranges of cupcake and china, both of which I love!

Their Knightsbridge store have recently taken on Pudding Cook, creator of these gorgeous cupcakes.

The cakes which are £2.95 each are made by Rachel Nimenko, who is a former Chef de Partie at Edinburgh's Number One restaurant. If only they were dairy free! Might have to get The Boyfriend to sample one and report back when we go to London.

Harvey Nic's other new surprise is Blaue Blume China is magnificent and compliments their cupcakes brilliantly.

The wonderful Teacup & Saucer, I'm not a massive tea drinker but I could definitely be tempted by one of these.

What an amazing cake stand! Who wouldn't want a one?

The china is ranged between £15 and £128 which is a really reasonable price for such interesting pieces.

In other Harvey Nic's news, their new trends are amazing, and have already inspired a hole in my bank account!

I love the Erdem Adelpha Floral Dress, the Yves Saint Laurent pumps & the Lanvin choker.

The new minimalism trend is very chic and can be easily dressed up or down depending on whether it's teamed with jeans or heels.

I may splash out for the Marc by Marc Jacobs studs which are gorgeous, and the McQ scarf is definitely on my wishlist! It'd be perfect for our trip to Cornwall, it's more beach chic than English Riviera, but the glamour will be the same! Can't wait!

Inception is an amazing film, although I did spend most of it trying to work out what was actually happening, The Boyfriend loved it though, and as usual got it straight away. He pulled a face when I asked him to go see it again with me, have to wait for the DVD. I'm really pleased that it didn't jump on the 3D bandwagon like so many other films which have done so unnecessarily.

Benedict Cumberbatch as the new Sherlock Holmes, with Martin Freeman as his John Watson is wonderful, Sunday nights have never been so good. I love the way they show his thinking without a soliloquy, its a refreshing take on the classic character. Watson, especially is true to the books, he isn't a bumbling fool, but witty and intelligent in his own right.

I do know though, that a few people I know don't like it, and think that the programme is too similar to Dr Who, but with Stephen Moffat as one of the creators, I personally think that that is to be expected. All in all, the BBC have done it again, poor old ITV can't compete!

I have to admit that I did go and see the third instalment of the Twilight Saga, and, more importantly, The Boyfriend willingly came with me! The film was watchable, no where near as good as the first, but I do have to say that the eye candy was worth going. Jacob aka Taylor Lautner without his shirt on...well I never!

You can't blame me!

What I did find a tad disappointing is that they didn't stick to the book as much as I'd hoped, I read them all before the films were even thought about, and Edward was the one you were rooting for, although in the film Jacob definitely gets your vote. If you want a bit of light relief it's worth a watch.

After much umming and ahhing, I finally splashed out on a pair of Toms, and I have to say, although the sizing is a bit on the small size, (I'm a 6, and I had to go for a 7). But they are the most comfy shoes ever! They are £29.95 in Schuh, plus 10% student discount so they're pretty reasonable, with a choice of colours, I went for the grey (below) but I could be tempted for the navy as well.

The great thing about Toms is that when you buy them you're doing a good deed, they give a pair to a child in Africa for each one you buy, so you can feel a bit better about parting with your cash. Find out more on www.toms.com

Why can't we leave relationships to the people in them? Kate Winslet and Charlotte Church have both been on the receiving end of speculation this week for having friends who are male and whom they may or may not have feelings for. At the end of the day, why is it our business?

I heard a song which I haven’t for a while yesterday; one line hit me, which really applies to me right now; “Isn’t this the best part of breaking up, finding someone else you can’t get enough of?”

Then of course this leads into what constitutes a relationship, are you only allowed to feel like this if you are in a relationship, ignoring the question of who asked who and should it be a man’s job, what happens if you’ve known them a week? Are you a whore, or is it really a deep, heart stopping bond? Should you ignore it because of what people say, because of how you feel, because circumstance timed it badly, or do you do the teenage thing, throw all caution to the wind and follow your heart even if it’s damming you?

But then for doing this are you a whore or are you simply someone who is lucky enough to have found ‘the one’ even if they turn out to be temporary? How can anyone tell how anything is going to work out? They can’t. This therefore makes labels pointless; you definitely have to kiss a few frogs before you find your prince, allowing mistakes to be made, rectified and learnt from. Why have to endure times of pain through someone’s misjudgement of you, when at the end of the day at least you had the courage to try, did they? Think about it, the real reason people put labels on things are either because they are new and scary, people don’t quite understand them or simply they are jealous. They wish that when they were twenty four they had had the courage to go for drinks with the guy from work, not caring about the rumours or rules which could apply.

On the other hand there is always the fantastic part of any relationship; the prospect of giving yourself to someone completely is undeniably scary, letting go of every hang up, putting control not in your head, with its rational capabilities but into your emotions, the unknown. However scary it may seem the benefits of doing so outweigh the scariness, being with someone completely is thrilling.

Before throwing yourself into the chasm that is the unknown, one must step on eggshells over the ever thinning ice, facing a battle within yourself. ‘Is this the right thing to do?’ ‘Am I being stupid?’ The answer to both of these questions is: ‘Yes of course’, even if everything goes wrong, you tried it, you risked everything, for what you thought was right. For love.

Doing this is hard, giving someone else control, telling them your most intimate thoughts, giving them both your body and your mind. It’s completely exhilarating, but terrifying at the same time, the prospect of losing everything doesn’t seem so bad when you have the prospect of gaining everything if it works.

When it works, its bliss, there’s a smile almost tattooed on your face, suddenly you light up everyone around you, there’s a noticeable different in your composure.

Waiting by the phone is no longer desperate but exciting, hearing your ring tone makes you jump, panic slightly; “What if it’s him?” “Oh my God it is!!!” Seeing him pop up on messenger makes your heart skip a beat and a grin appear.

There is only one thing that annoys me about being in a couple, suddenly you morph into one being, one person, constantly being asked how the other one is, which is fine, but if you’re friends with both people, couldn’t you ask separately? Yes we’re together but we’re still the same people we were.

Some people claim not to be relationship people, they can’t deal with the closeness that a relationship requires, the truthfulness, the openness. They prefer their ‘space’ to be theirs, ultimately though, they are just scared. Scared of being that close to someone else, scared of having to think about someone else besides themselves, before themselves, they don’t realise though that that is the point. Relationships are there for many reasons, one of which to give yourself completely to someone else, to have someone who sticks out the bad times as well as the good and to have one person who you can trust with anything.

I completely and utterly love Stephen Fry and to my complete and utter excitement, he's doing some live shows in September! I've managed to get tickets to the London show at the Southbank Centre, I'm so excited! Unfortunately, The Boyfriend is less so - not because of the show, but because Mr Fry is signing books afterwards and he knows I'm going to embarrass him, I'm not sure what he thinks I'm going to do....Swoon?!?

Last Wednesday The Boyfriend and I made a jaunt to Birmingham, intentionally to get my little brother some Krispie Kreme donuts for his 14th birthday, and as we were there, thought I'd kill two birds with one stone and see an exhibition that I'd read about.

Steve McCurry is an amazing photographer, he's been taking photos for 3 decades in some really amazing places, his portfolio spans Cambodia, Vietnam, India, Africa and Afghanistan.

His photos are moving, haunting but most of all honest, they simply tell the truth. No picture he takes is staged, which is part of the most captivating thing.

The exhibition is called Retrospective Exhibition at the Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery until 17th October, it's the only one in England for a while, and is definitely worth going to.

I completely and utterly love Marc Jacobs, especially Marc by Marc Jacobs...

I've fallen for his bags and shoes (not to mention the rest of the range!)

49.____Money Money Money

On the way home from work, you can tell my dad was driving, because radio 4 was on - and I never thought that I'd ever say this...but...it was actually quite good! They were doing a piece on money and the history of it, how initially, people bargained with gold, which led to gold standard.

The only reason paper money became so popular was because it was a universal consensus that it was valuable. They made the very interesting point, that if everyone took a bit less interested in cold hard cash then it would be less valuable.

If we did in fact, start trading things with an actual value such as food, shelter, clothes etc then cash would be worthless and we, as a society would be richer. Whether they mean morally, intellectually or physically rich is unclear.

It is an interesting point though, maybe one day it'll happen... Who knows...

48.____Jared Leto is Beautiful

Jared Leto, lead singer of 30 Seconds to Mars and American Psycho Actor is a beautiful man. He really is, whether he is brunette or blonde.

He has really piercing blue eyes, which, I, for one wouldn't mind getting lost into for hours! He's currently on Alan Carr's Chatty Man (yes I am watching that), he's really funny and a nice guy.

Lily Cole and Jared Leto

I think I prefer him blonde, I love his music, 30 Seconds to Mars have just released a brilliant album and hopefully, I'll be going to see them soon!

I think I'm a bit late to join the military boot bandwagon, I meant to, I really did but I genuinely thought that I'd look ridiculous, I'm about 5"2' and just didn't think they'd look right. Although, recently, the more I've seen them the more I wish I'd bought some sooner. Alas, I don't think I'll find any now, but I have found these, this is my wish list, as it's my birthday soon hopefully I'll be able to afford the Miss KG ones, fingers crossed.

These are my favourite, Taupe Skye ankle boots by Miss KG, £80.00, they do come in black too (as seen below) but I just can't help preferring these.

Topshop also do some great ones, which I might just be able to justify as it will be winter and I will be living further north than I'm used to....

I've also seen some nice ones in the Dune sale at £39.00 which I think is a bargain! So maybe they are a more realistic pair to go for.
